Lighting Design Process
PROJECT ANALYSIS
The Lighting Design team shall co-ordinate their design and documentation with the remainder of the design team. The Lighting Design team will take a pro-active involvement in design process to ensure that the project gains the maximum benefit. Accordingly attendance at design & coordination meetings as & when required will be adhered to at a time convenient to all.
LIGHTING DESIGN
In the design phase, decisions are made regarding the lamps and luminaires to be used, the arrangement and installation of the luminaires and any required control gear and control devices. This also allows a reliable calculation of illuminance and costs. No strict process can be set out, or even one describing generally routine design stages. Lighting design will be a cyclical process in which developed solutions are repeatedly compared to the stated requirements.
Design Development
Develop lighting plans and details of the proposed design in AutoCAD format from files provided by the Interior Designer / Architect. 3d modeling is not included within the scope. However, on site demonstration would be organized
Preparation of Final BOQ
Prepare final specifications and Schedule of Quantities for purposes of issuing tenders for all lighting fixtures used in the design, with cut sheets and sketches. The information shall contain description, manufacturer's reference numbers, lamp type, wattage, finish, mounting positions with the vendor details and addresses.
Construction Administration
Facilitate and coordinate with the Architect, Project Managers and the Building Contractors, any lighting issues that may arise due the conflict with other building services.
